Biography

Born and raised in Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C., Dr, Mesa graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was also a McNair Scholar. He received his M.S. in 2013 and Ph.D. in 2015, both in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida.  His research interests include the deficits and difficulties experienced by adolescents with social anxiety and the psychopathology and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, particularly in military veterans. He is also interested in exploring cultural influences in these areas. Dr. Mesa is a staff psychologist at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
