QLatinx hosted a training for UCF RESTORES titled Understanding Sexuality and Gender Diversity. Course content focused on terminology commonly used in the LGBTQ+ community, historical events that perpetuated the LGBTQ+ movement, and deconstructing sex, gender, and orientation binaries.
While UCF RESTORES fosters an environment of diversity and inclusion, assessing our understanding of the evolving needs of the LGBTQ+ community provided the opportunity to reflect on additional ways we can create and sustain a treatment environment conducive to all survivors of trauma.
