U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy has announced UCF RESTORES’ receipt of next-phase funding for ongoing development of its own virtual reality (VR) treatment software. This technology will not only allow UCF RESTORES to broaden the immersive scenarios created for veteran and active-duty military patients, but will also open up a new “playing field” in the treatment of first responders, survivors of mass shootings and sexual assault, and more. The project is being developed in partnership with the University of Central Florida (UCF) School of Visual Arts & Design, the UCF Nicholson School of Communications and Media, and the UCF Institute for Simulation & Training / E2i Creative Studio.
